Bita Emami – An Iranian self-taught artist born in 1998

Bita Emami is a self-taught artist born in 1998. She began her artistic journey with documentary and portrait photography, which later led her to explore photomontage and collage. She has created visual work for Make Media and has been active in the NFT space since 2021.

We asked Bita a few questions to get to know her better and here is what she had to say:

Q. Tell us about your artistic journey. How did it all begin, and how has your work evolved over time?

I started with photography, then Photoshop and photomontage, and gradually became interested in collage.

Q. What are the themes or philosophies that drive your art? Where does your creative inspiration come from?

I try to address psychological and social issues in my work, emotions that we come into contact with every day and perhaps sometimes struggle with.

Q. What was your entry point into NFTs and digital art—and what made you stay?

I came into NFTs quite by accident, but for me it was a space full of learning and global connections. Getting to know cultures is very interesting to me, and delivering my message through my art on a global level is a great achievement.

Q. How has the NFT space helped you beyond sales—specifically in terms of global exposure, exhibitions, and recognition?

It was a dream come true that someone in some part of the world would see my art and be able to connect with it, and I would make friends from different nationalities.

Q. Can you share a few milestone moments or key exhibitions that have shaped your path as an artist?

Billboards of my work have been put up in different cities around the world. They are very interesting. It’s a very precious moment for me when I see people’s reactions, as they pass by a billboard of my work on a busy day and stare at it for a few moments.

Q. What does your creative process look like— from idea to finished piece, digital or otherwise?

I don’t make any plans and leave it to my subconscious and let my thoughts and feelings express themselves without any boundaries or restrictions.

Q. What have been the biggest challenges and the biggest joys of navigating the Web3 art space as a creator?

Every job has its challenges. I’m an artist, and it was probably a bit challenging for me when I first started learning about blockchain and fighting scams.

Q. What’s next? Are there any upcoming collections, exhibitions, or projects we should be excited about?

Yes, of course, I am always collaborating with different artists and I am very exited about an upcoming collection about trauma and psychological issues that I hope will be implemented.
